A nice version of one of Jimi's more melodic moments. Oh, yeah. Love the bar rolls!

Don't go in the water after lunch. You'll get a cramp and drown. - Mother.

Re: Little Wing - Larry Hutcherson
Been one of my favorites in the fretted world since I was a teenager. But a question from a place of ignorance...what exactly are bar rolls? Something related to the hammer-ons/roll-offs? Not a term I've sorted out, yet...David Matzenik wrote:Love the bar rolls!

Bar roll
Not sure, but I think he meant at 3:13 in the video he lets the bar roll on the strings. Look Ma, no hands! I'm more ignorant then you are about this stuff, but that's what I think Dave meant.
Currently own, 6 Groner-tone lap steels, 1953 Alamo Lap steel, (a gift from the late Stu Schulman) Recording King Phil Leadbetter Dobro, Roland Cube, Roland Mobile Cube, Fender Champion 40

tapered bar
He lifts the steel with his knee at times to let the bar roll forward or back.
I use a tapered bar and it doesn't work so well!

Haha, you're right...hadn't noticed that before...he's quite a bit more daring than I!!Bill Groner wrote:Not sure, but I think he meant at 3:13 in the video he lets the bar roll on the strings. Look Ma, no hands! I'm more ignorant then you are about this stuff, but that's what I think Dave meant.
