Help!

Post by Wayne Tumey »

Hey guys,
need your help. When I go to burn a CD using BIAB, using their tab, I get this error,

Cannot burn
Device error has occurred (1051)
Extended error key : 5 ASC:21 ASCQ:2

I can say ok and put the song on track 2 but Track 1 is nothing and track 2 will play the song.

Thanks in advance
Wayne

Note: this is for a funeral Thursday so it's a bit time sensitive. Thanks again!

Hi Wayne,

I don't know what causes the error, or how to fix it, however there is a different method of burning a CD that you may try:

Render the song to WAV, save it on your hard drive in a location that you can find easily. Then using whatever CD burning program that you have, burn it as an audio CD. More steps, but I find that I get better quality and fewer errors by doing this.

Good luck,
David

Error

Post by Wayne Tumey »

David,
Thank you for your help. This is what I would normally do but decided to use BIAB burner. Got this error ? But would burn it on track 2, strange?

So, when rendering it to a WAV file my CD player would not play the CD...i had forgotten that my "new" player quit on me and I had another older Sony CD player. Do you think that the older model is not reading the WAV burned CD?

(BIAB would play on my old CD player?)

This is my nephews funeral so I might not be thinking all that well, he was only 22, drowned while at the lake with some friends.

Thanks again,
Wayne

Hi Wayne,

Sorry to hear about your nephew. I never use the BIAB burner, nero is my first choice, followed by roxio or a lightscribe program.

Make sure you check the finalize option or the CD may not play on other players. Render to WAV then burn on a reliable program and finalize. There should be no problems then.

Burning CD

Post by Wayne Tumey »

Rob,
Got in early this morning (Friday) from the funeral (Thursday) sorry for the late response. Thank you for your help. After all the hustle of trying to get this track finished…I found the problem. The tab for burning had been switched to “data” vs “audio”. Found that at the very last minute before we had to get on the road for the funeral. Got the track done. My 12 year old is quite the song writer, so this was a very special and personal song. Bottom line, we got it charted, track done and vocals on and CD burned for the family and it was a very special part of the service! Thanks again

David,
Thank you too for your help!
