You won't regret buying this one Will!

As an interesting side story, some people have noticed that when they remove the "Classic Vibe" sticker from the pickguard, an image of it remains that cannot be scrubbed off. Apparently UV from sunlight is continually affecting the entire guitar, including the pickguard, but not the part of the pickguard behind the sticker. After removing the sticker, over time, UV evenly fades the pickguard to and even shade and the sticker spot disappears. I like leaving my stickers on for a long time. Makes me feel like I still own a new guitar.

I already have several Squiers with a CV Custom Tele ,the one with double binding,on the way..The Thinline will be my next one I think..
Like you, I've sold just about all my vintage guitars for insane prices..
Probably my favorite so far is a Custom ll with P90s.Great all around axe..
The one that surprised me was the Tele Afinity top loader.$100 jewel..

Looks nice, What do the have under the hood. Pups and pots and the switch and the plug. Are they using mij allparts or super cheepe korean mini pots and ceramic pups. What size frets. The china made deluxe squire strats were/are great guitars made with good parts.

No Korean or MIJ parts. What I've gleaned from the forums is that these are all Chinese parts and the the only part that is overly problematic is the cup where the jack plugs in at. That is replaceable for about $5 shipped from ebay. Fender seems to have three levels of shielding on their tele guitars today: copper foil, copper paint and no shielding with the worst shielding problems centered on the neck pickup cavity. The CV's I've had apart used copper paint. Funny thing is that some of the expensive genuine Fender reissue guitars have no cavity shielding at all to be authentic to the original design.

I recently sold an original first year 73 Thinline Natural, the model with 2 Fender humbuckers. Slightly mofified with mini schallers and a 5 position Strat switch that had a resister on it.

It played like a dream since new, but never had a Telly tone.. a great deal for about $200 dealers cost.. sold it recently and it paid for a new Rittenberry SD10

I have played a couple Squire models that were positively bonnaroo

Bo,I'm pretty sure that model with the buckers came out in '72..They have the reissues now..I had the earlier one from '68/'69 with the single coils in it.That was one butt kickn' guitar and nice and light too..
