Are all Hee-Haw performances lipsynced?

Post by Sherman Willden »

It seems most if not all the musical performances don't have amp chords plugged in or sometimes things are out of sync. Were any of the performances live?

It is easy to play the steel guitar. Playing so that the audience finds it pleasing is the difficult act.

I think Bama is correct. I saw one Lynn Anderson clip recently were the original track was definitely used, with Lloyd Green playing while the band had Curly Chalker sitting behind his steel. But there are others that seem to be played live.

Kind Regards, Walter

I was privy several times to be at tapings..The show was set up where the Comedy was recorded on different days and the music the same..The Show had a great staff band that included the likes of Chalker-Hicks on steel..I never got to the music tapings but was told that a lot of Artist lipsynched..But many did use the staff band or brought their own..This show was a film editors playground as it was put together for viewing in the cut room..It was hard not to break out laughing from the bench seats provided for myself and the few that were there.

Faron did it live with the Deputies. I remember watching one show where Don Rich was playing fiddle (blue) and when he stopped "playing" to sing harmony with Buck you could still hear it sawing away.
