Cowboy Eddie Long

Post by Rick Nicklas »

I ordered the Eddie Long "I've Been Everywhere" CD and his Big Band and Jazz Album off the BMI website. This man, in my opinion is one of the finest steel guitarist's ever. It took awhile to get the album because he tours with Jamey Johnson. He called me when he was home and actually had to make me a copy of the Big Band Jazz CD from the master while we were on the phone. I have never heard anyone master the Universal-12 tuning like this guy (he brings the E9th and B6th together so beautiful and blends them so natural). I am surprised that I have only heard of him just within the last year. If you order either album just put on a pair of headphones and listen to this unbelievably talented man. I was just hypnotized by his tasty picking and knowledge of music. All I can say is this guy is the real deal and my favorite steel player now.

Here's the website for anyone interested: http://www.beckmusicalinstruments.com/R ... -Long.html

Eddie kicks butt. I'm a long time fan...since the Hank Jr. heyday yrs. of the 70's, 80's.
