"TATER "

Hank Williams gave Jimmy the nickname "TATER" after Jimmy had released the tune, "Take An Old Cold Tater And Wait" :)

Happy Birthday to one of the last true county singers in Nashville. Here's one of the best videos in country music..... with Pee Wee Rogers on steel, playing fantastic as usual. I'm so thankful that I've been able to experience country music when it was still country.

Thanks Rick for the video. That is pure country music at its best and yes I am glad to have lived and played steel in that time frame. What a great time to be in music.

Happy birthday Jimmy and many happy returns of the day. You are the first major Opry act that I ever saw, about 1952 at Hillbilly Park, Newark, Ohio. I can still name the guys in the band. Very impressive then as today.
