Beatles Remastered

Post by b0b »

I just got the remastered "Rubber Soul" in the mail today. $7.99 from Amazon.

Wow! I'm hearing parts I never heard before. Great vocal harmonies, impeccable drum parts, fantastic guitar tones. I highly recommend this CD.

I just discovered that they've raised the price to $9.99. I guess it's a hot item for holiday sales. :\

Allthough I like the sound of vinyl better than CD, I am very interested in hearing this, because it has been remastered and as you said you can hear things a little different than before . Thanks for the tip!

Vinyl has it's goodness, but CD Signal to Noise ratio brings out a lot that's otherwise missed.

I found that out years ago with Donald Fagen's "The Nightfly" LP. Several years after buying the LP and many listenings later, I bought the CD.

Wow! From the CD I was hearing stuff that didn't even break the gate on the LP.

BTW, I was listening to the Beatles in 1963-64 from WKBW-AM Buffalo on a two transistor radio squirreled away under my pillow. "I saw her standing there" induces a nice flashback to that time...
