SongCrafters in Jeannette, PA

My brother Dennis lives in the small town of Jeannette, PA, about 25 miles east of Pittsburgh. There, in a coffee shop called the KeyNote Cafe, he hosts a monthly gathering of amateur songwriters known as SongCraft.

The SongCraft performances are videotaped and shared with the word via YouTube. Dennis has also started a FaceBook group for SongCrafters. Here are the links:

I like to celebrate human creativity and the fact that so many of us are compelled by our genes to make music. While the quality isn't always "great", it is always interesting and worthy of our respect. And some of the songs are really good.

I'm proud of my brother for pulling these people together. Maybe that's something in our family's shared genetic makeup - our sister, Lou Buckingham, also performs and organizes concerts.

Bob, I don't know who that chick is but she's got a world class voice. I've seen many, many. She's got chops.

There's a lot of talent shows up in that room. I don't know which "chick" you're talking about. There are a few of them that are really talented.
