Senior year in high school, this was my gang's song. My buddy Dan had a '65 Chevy station wagon and we used to take off for the mountains every weekend. On the rear bumber he had a Chuck Wagon bumper sticker and we all called the car the "Chuck Wagon mobile." The band played at a country music nightclub in San Carlos, California that used to be in the old Department of Motor Vehicles building. Dang, I couldn't get in, even with my neck beard.

Great, great times. Lots of Marshall Tucker, Outlaws, Neil Young, Steve Miller and the wheels. So much fun. Now it's true that I liked the BGs too, but lovin' one thing doesn't necessarily require you to dislike something else.

My friend Henry Paul was a member of the Outlaws.
