I think that is the version from the Swingtime CD. Eddie Rivers who now plays with Asleep at the Wheel was the steel player. Eddie is a fantastic player.

Wayne is not touring with a steel player these days.

Now I am curious..

on that song... (thunderstorms and neon signs)

that sounds more like a C6 feel. is that right?

What tuning Did Hank Sr's tuning use for his steels?(I know they were pedalless right)

Lloyd Maines produced and played steel on the original version of "Thunderstorms & Neon Signs" from the same titled album. FoBro Herb Steiner also played on a cut or two of that album I think. Interesting to me that Lloyd is so well known as a monster pedal player that his virtuosity on "straight" steel goes unnoticed. He slays it on this album!

I don't think Jeremy Wakefield played with Wayne in the studio until his third album, "Wild, Free & Reckless"... he played on another or two I think. Dave Biller knows for sure as he was there for most if not all of it. I think Lloyd has produced them all.
