Lollar Cicago Six p.u hums loudly UPDATE
I cannot get this to work. the Lollar Chicago Six pickup has a huge hum. louder than 60 cycle. it remains even when I touch ground with my body.
the pup is extremely microphonic.
I have followed the single coil wire diagram carefully. I used the process of elimination to no avail. I even removed the tone circuit to simplify my wiring route.
the pots are 250K. the cap 001mf.
I typically use one grounding point. I have run a ground to the backs of the pots. (removing it for the elimination process with no change in hum).
any suggestions guys.?

thanks for the replies.
I wrote Jason Lollar.
as for shielding, I have used none in the past with success.
the problem I am having seems different from 6o cycle hum, outside interference, as from an electronic source from fluorescent fixtures, etc.
I am going to try out the wire routes, connections.
some one said to wrap copper foil around the pickup windings and ground that. where as that makes sense I have to ask 'why/?'. the Lollar pickup is professional and has the shield ground and hot lead. all the wie I use to make connections are shielded.
I have wire three other projects, using Seymour Duncan single coils, and duplicated my successful wiring to this Lollar pup. troubles troubles troubles.
I respect the workmanship of Jason's products, so my problems would be self inflicted. I think, but am not sure. that's why I post and would like any and all ideas from your electronic guys.
thanks.
UPDATE. I unsoldered everything. then using new wire put everything back. plugged in and it works!
the tone circuit, however, does not work. I am thinking so what at this point. the guitar sounds excellent. no noise just pure 50's lap steel tone.
I have no idea why things did not work and now do.I guess it is similar to when the car doesn't start; ya open the hood. wiggle the wires, wipe something else off, wiggle more wires, close the hood and the car not only starts, but runs great for another hundred miles.
