A lot of the guys on this forum are over 50 so we're the ones now that a lot of young people make comments about the Baby Boomers.
I may have gray hair but I also have one thing not available to the younger set memories of our REAL Stars and heroes, Ask one of us old farts if we EVER saw Gene Autry Roy Rogers, Webb Pierce Marty robbins
dressed in jeans that look like they need thrown away,
Coming on a Stage when it looks like they havent taken a bath in 2 weeks, Singing Songs with lewd comments or suggestive in nature.
Don't get me wrong a lot of the new technology is great but myself if we could go back to some old fashoined ways and morals I'd give my Microwave for it in a second.
You could have an uninterrupted conversation with someone,now no matter where you are that is not possible,a Page call e Mail call waiting,or RUDE person since manners are no longer taught to Kids.
They can barely spell,count or do anything anymore,Schools are a disgrace Armed guards in the halls,We need some of the Morals our Old Heroes taught in their Shows. Thanks to all of them

I wasn't trying to pick out their faults as much as to say nobody is perfect. Todays stars have their faults too. I try not to judge a book by it's cover. I like to dig a little deeper into a person before I pass judgement. LIke I said in my original post, even with the faults I brought up, I still love those artists and their music. Didn't all those t shirt wearing, torn jeans guys just play a telethon to raise money for all the people who were affected by the floods? Sounds like some low lifes to me.

I agree. I once read an article about Roy Rogers and it said that he quit smoking and social drinking in public because he didn't want to have a bad image or be a bad influence. And I NEVER heard him use vulger language. He had REAL CLASS! He was between average and small in stature, but no "star" of today that I can think of is big enough to fill his boots. His kind is gone.

Well very few of the "old guys" I don't like because of what they were in "the other world". I'm glad I didn't know what a butthole Buck was, cause I liked him. I might not have.

Merle has never been especially proud of his misspent times. His focus thankfully has been his MUSIC.

Paycheck was whoever you thought he was when you saw him. He scared me the couple times and places I met him. His name was Donny Young.

BOTH he and Willie could and often did "dress up". And "down"... It was usually pat of the act that you bumpkins seem to miss... Ever see the picture on Panther Hall? LOOKED pretty "Straight"?

I LOVED all those old dressed to the hilt shows. One here in PDx had Marty Hank Snow, Billy W, Faron, and a bunch of others.

I think some of you old geezers are making this s#it up about "shows not being up to your standards". Ever see a Lyle Lovett concert? Ever shell out a hundred bucks to see Brad Paisley?

My guess is 'no'...

I think very few now that I think about it are just throwing on stuff they have in the bus and coming out..

I miss the "market" for good, dressed to the hilt, carbon arc beauty, panorama type country.

All most of us old guys want to do is sit behind a screen and bitch about the "old times"...

Maybe if we cared enough to shell out a hundred or more bucks for a concerts like these "kids" do, we'd have more of a say in it...

Now I've got to go get ready for work, lay out my depends for tomorrow, and soak my teeth, and make sure my miracle ear has a battery.. Two out of three of those things, I'm not kidding about.
