Love my amp!! its #0001 and #1 is what it is.. Go on pull the trigger & getcha one !!!. My sessons have picked up since I got this amp. never seen an amp fill a room with sound like this thing does!!

Ken has worked on every amp I have, so it was just logical that I'd have to have the 5F8B. BTW, have you played the Show Pro through the Bright channel on the Fox? It has such silky highs and the bright channel seems to emphasize just the right frequencies to make a wood neck / lacquer guitar come alive. That was my experience, at any rate.
Yes, it is more expensive than other steel amps but, for me, it is worth it. It will pay for itself in a year or less.
Ken Fox is a major asset to the Forum. Forumites owe it to themselves to check Ken's masterpiece out. He's working on some other choices with 12" SICAs, but the 15" SICA is hands down the finest sounding 15" speaker I've ever heard -- including all of the old favorites -- D130s or my favorite Altec 418B. I'll have to have one of his 12" external speaker cabs when they become available.
I agree, Ken has talked with Paul Franklin alot in the development of this amp and I do believe Paul really likes the 15" sica.. I believe I remember Ken telling me that Paul said the sica was one of the better sounding 15's he had ever heard...& I believe Paul only uses 12's so thats a nice complement!
These look and by the forum reponse must sound great. What does Ken charge for the single 15"? I guess that depends on wattage. Any ball parks? Thank you. Your fellow steeler up north.
This is the 5F8B amp based on the 1960 Brown Tolex Bassman with two extra power tubes. It weighs under 50# with 4 6L6s and about 100W RMS. It has a 15" SICA neodymium magnet speaker. Best steel guitar amp I have ever played through (and I've played through more than a few of them).
Original price was $2000. Parts have gone up. Contact Ken for the current price. It's worth EVERY PENNY.
I am getting the pricing in form the suppliers and will be ordering soon. I will announce the new pricing ASAP. I will also offer a 2-12" model as well.
It will be higher than the 1-15" model, due to the extra speaker cost.

We are also working on a stand alone tube reverb, not a Fender style circuit but one based on the old Premier 90. The prototype sound more like a hall or plate reverb to my ear. Jim Evans looked over the circuit and explained to me that it was a "recirculation reverb" circuit. This means that part of the tank output is fed back to the input for very natural, hall like decay. Even though it uses the same exact tank as a Fender it sounds nothing like a Fender unit. Makes a nice tube buffer too as it is the firs thing before the amp.
