I love Miranda Lambert's new song..............

Post by Jerry Hayes R.I.P. »

called "The House That Built Me"..... What a story and a great video to go with it! She's one of the new breed that knocks me out with her talent. Some of the new girls just have the looks but Miranda's got song writing ability, and she's very easy on the eyes with just the right amount of baby fat for me! I think she'll be around for a long time.....JH in Va.
Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!!

Miranda has really impressed me. Some of the album cuts that she wrote are great. I definitely thinks she is one of the good ones. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is a great CD.

Me too...ML will last for decades as long as she continues to write. I believe the other night she stated she is a writer first performer second. I happen to think she is a great soulful singer and in another 40 years she will still be considered "current".. ML, the real deal...

Miranda's an awesome singer/songwriter and songs like "The House That Built Me" are songs that come from her heart.

I still need to pick up her CD. I think all songwriters write from the heart.
Shania mentored American Idol tonight and seeing this thread reminded me of that.

Except ML came from NVille Star ! I believe time will be good for ML, she will probably be the only one that survives Nville Star with a lifelong career. She has the age, the look, the talent ,the voice, the musicianship and the writing ability. That's a package that others only dream of.

Theresa, what does songwriters writing from the heart have to do with Shania Twain mentoring American Idol contestants?

Miranda's been around for a while. I never really paid much attention to her though I admit I know nothing about her. I've only heard the radio cuts and nothing from her albums.

Like it matters what I think , I found her big "Kerosene" hit cliche and more of the same forgettable fluff that the industry was churning out.

In all fairness, I think this new song is very nice and showcases her talent much better. I also found her demeanor and humility endearing when they announced her award at the ACM's. Maybe she's coming into her own.

Jerry,

I felt the same about "Kerosene" and really didn't like Miranda after that. Then I heard some of her other stuff like "Love Letters", "More like Her", and her version of "Easy From Now On", and became a real fan.
