A True GIF Story
Here’s a little true story, FWIW. I sent it to Forum Brother David Wright a few days ago when he was "having one of those days". David was upset that we're not "one happy musical family".
I wanted to show that some, maybe most, of us are.
Here’s the story:
Terry Wendt and I were goofing around via posts and email, about smilies.
I made one of myself. Terry animated it.
I have it on my web site at the bottom of http://www.joeyace.com/inst.htm
It’s named joey-ON-steel.gif
A few months later Sunny Curtis, who I only know by his reputation, announced that he has a new web page.
http://www.sonnycurtis.net/
I checked it out and was surprised to see MY GIF on his main page and on several other pages.
It was near a vintage picture of George and Tammy. Sonny took it without asking me!
I emailed him and said I was honored to see he’s using it. I explained how Terry and I collaborated on it.
He wrote back, and graciously thanked me. Later I was talking to Terry and told him the story. Terry told me that Sonny was a great influence on him when he was learning, though they never met. He was glad the gif he helped create is now on Sonny’s site. What goes around comes around.

The Forum Logo
has been used quite a bit without permission. I don't mind, but some versions of the logo are anti-aliased to specific background colors. It doesn't look right if you paste it onto a green page or something.
Still, as long as they don't use it to link to steelguitarnashville.com, I'm cool with it.

Joey
I'm really glad you two created the Joey Ace steel player. I think a web site called True Country has it in their list of smilies. He sure is a happy steeler! Maybe we will meet sometime. There is going to be a steel show here in Columbus the first week end in June. I'll be playing there. Thanks again for the use of Joey Ace Steeler.

I was looking forward to meeting you in Grand Rapids, Sonny, but the ice storm nixed that plan. There will come a time.
I never found the "True Counrty" link you told me about. There's hundreds of "True Country" web pages. It doesn't matter. THey're welcome to the gif too.
