It said "don't make attacks on the artist". Right ,these guys played so damn sick, I sure as hell can't play better than Stanley, I may just attack myself instead. What a great Trio, dang HOT.

Two guitars? Comping left handed and single notes with the right? Hell, if you get to that point, why not just play piano?

That said, Jordan is a fine improviser; saw him in a club years ago taking no prisoners.

I've been a fan of Jordan's traditional stuff for a few years now. That's a great example of his musical ability. Looks like he was a little younger when this was recorded. Thanks for posting the link to that clip Roger.

Have you seen this guy on youtube. Wonder if it was him or Stanley that started this.

I've had quite a few Stanley Jordan sightings back in the 80s and 90s. First time was on a street corner in NYC and he blew us all away. His version of Hava Nagila was sick. Second time was at an Amnesty International festival at Giants Stadium in front of about 80,000. Huge audience for a solo guitarist, sandwiched somewhere between Yoko Ono and Bryan Adams, it was a breath of fresh air. Third time, he was playing standard guitar (no tapping) for Bennie Wallace with Dr. John. He was pretty unremarkable in that context.

I'm not much of a fan of his music but I respect him very much. He can really surprise you at times.
