I might be a beginner now, but someday I'm gonna steel the show.

These are the chords as per the writer and also of arranger Nelson Riddle.. Somewhat different to the ones on the JB recording..Click Here
The majority of versions seem to have a consensus of chords different to the Jerry Byrd ones, I wonder why he appeared to change them ?
Many more here

N.B. The chords are an amalgamation of the more melodic versions and closely follow the ORIGINAL which is HERE

This BIAB AUDIO File was created using a Mac Mini and version 2011 Audiophile..
From the March 2006 issue of 'Aloha Dream'
The Tab...
Adventures in Paradise, was written for the 1959 Television series that had 91 episodes, featured Gardener McKay as Captain Adam Troy and his ship the ‘Tiki’ With stories taken from the James A. Michener book.
Living most of his life in Hawaii, he passed away in 2001
I’ve transcribed it in the EIGHT string E13 tuning E-C#-B-G#-E-D-B-E.. because it’s one of the more popular tunings with our readers.
There are one or two issues regarding the notation and lyrics. The ORIGINAL sheet music published by the Miller Music Corp.gives the chords and actual melody quite differently to other copies I’ve seen. One of the simplified versions departs quite spectacularly from the melody and chords in more than one instance, so what I’ve done is to transcribe this version using the ORIGINAL Miller score and modify it to the chords and timing structure used by “Hawaii Calls”, “Bing Crosby”, the original soundtrack recording and any other definitive source I could find.
The most noticeable variances are at the end of the modulated section where it reverts to the original key and starts the last 8 bars. It would seem that the copyist for the organ arrangement for Hastings Music, wasn’t particularly ‘Au Fait’ with the musical rule regarding accidentals NOT carrying over to the next bar, and repeated the Ab note on bar 16 in bar 17. The original score shows the note as A whilst the chord underneath is a Dm7 transitional into G7 and then C. The Ab could hardly be correct even if the chord was just G7, because the G7 is the leading chord back to C MAJOR in this case, and an Ab would indicate MINOR, (as it’s a DIATONIC Semitone.) Although MOST of the versions use a Dm7 to a G7 on bar 17, I’ve stayed with the original score, primarily because the effect of a “5 over 4” creates a feeling of a G11th.
