I like Wanda's music but I admit I don't know too much about her. Is that really the name of the band and if so, for how long have they been called that :?:

Will,
I missed it. I've been home with the flu for two weeks.

Jerry,
That's the real name, and they've been around a while. Their guitarist is Walter Broes:

Larry,

Those Belgians don't waffle. Even if they're belchin' waffles.

Wanda is the real deal.

Wanda has the technique of communicating with the audience. She will pick someone close to the stage and make eye contact with them. Then she sings the song to that person, and that makes it real... for everybody.

I saw here close up at a gig here in Austin at the Continental Club. She picked me out and kept eye contact for the whole song. Powerful!

Singers of both genders could learn a lot from WJ about how to deliver the goods.

She's a Christian lady and really sweet offstage. But she has that magnetism onstage that is earthy.

God bless Wanda Jackson!

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

Wanda tours a lot and is popular in a lot of different countries and with a lot of different age groups. Here in Phoenix, she plays the Rhythm Room every year or two and keeps drawing them in, and that's a blues club where they usually feature people like Duke Robillard. It seems like everybody likes her wherever she goes.

Wanda took Roy Clark to Vegas when he was a young whippersnapper. Not sure but think it was after Jimmy Dean fired him. YOU BETCHA,DYK?BC.
