The video was produced my my friend and terrific steel player, Kevin Ryan and his company- Boldmove Productions. He conceived of the idea and we had numerous meetings to discuss the format and just what we wanted to present and in what manner we wanted to present it. We decided against spending valuable time explaining the licks ("liks") and solos and simply had JayDee play the solos and licks up to speed and then more slowly. The explanation is provided in the accompanying tablature. There are 11 solos (Misty, Tears in Heaven, etc.), a 20 minute interview concentrating on how JayDee thinks when he plays, road stories, etc., and 14 licks that he commonly uses. The video and tab will be available on his web site in 2 weeks or at Scotty's in the Sierra room through Jim Baron and will be $44. at the show or $49.95 on the web site (that includes S/H).

Does anyone have an e-mail address for Jay Dee? I met him in Norway last year and would like to say hello to him at the Vince Gill conert in Atlanta on 12th October.

If your going to the convention and want JD Maness' new video, look me up in the Sierra Guitar Room. Will have a limited number of them for sale at a show price of $44. The video comes with a nice booklet of tab to cover the playing in the video.

Tried Jay Dee's web site last night. I filled in the order form but it kept telling me there were blank fields when in fact I filled everything but had no success. Some minor glitch, I suppose. I will get this video somehow, Gary.

Sounds like a great video, but there are problems ordering on the site. I keep getting error messages about the "Country" field not being filled in.

Hi Kevin...I had to complete everything which included repeating the same information for the 'shipping' area. Other wise, it would tell me I had incomplete information. In any case, it should have gone through...looking forward to getting the video. Thanks, Bill Simmons

The video order page is working. Like Bill said, you have to fill in additional information. After the order was complete, it went to a confirmation (receipt)page and I also received an email receipt. Thanks, Jay Dee, Jim and Kevin. I'm looking forward to getting the video.

We hope that you like it and it has received terrific reviews by those who've seen it. Please note that if you are expecting 5 minutes of valuable tape time for JayDee to explain each lick you will be disappointed. We decided that we would rather convey substantially more information and forego the lengthy explanations commonly found in video courses (ie.- "mash the A pedal and pluck string #5 at fret #7, then move up to the next fret.....") and simply offer the explanation via the provided tab. Because of that we were able to offer 11 solos, 14 licks, and 20 minutes of interview on one tape. To those of you who have gone out of your way to give us such wonderful feedback on the course- thank you. We appreciate it.

I just successfully ordered---to save time I just put a * in each of the duplicate shipping info fields. Hey Kevin R--you gotta find the right spot on the internet and whump it good with a ball peen hammer. Then everything should work just fine.

I bought the video at the ISGC and watched it all today. It is superbly done. I like the idea of them playing the actual recording first and then Jay Dee playing it at two and sometimes three different speeds. There is plenty in this I can use.

David's endorsement was enough for me to take a "chance" on it.
