Mingus Saturday night

Post by Jim Smith »

I'll be at the infamous Trio club in Mingus, Texas with Kinneth Doyle Saturday 1/12. This will be my first gig since my November surgery so I'll be plenty rusty, but would sure like to see some fellow pickers out there. Image

Bill Buntin, I tried to email you at steelman_5@hotmail.com and it came back. Please send me your correct address.

Jim, I thought you were gonna be playing an evening of all Charles Mingus tunes! I guess I'd better study up on my Texas geography! Have a great time, pal!

All the best, from my little corner of the world Jim.

Rusty or not, you'll do a great job. I've heard you play many-a-time. Good Luck.

Thanks for the well wishes guys. Image I was pretty stiff and rusty the first half of the first set, but after that was able to manage my old licks. By the end of the night I even threw in a few new 6th licks I learned from some instruction tapes that I watched while recuperating. Image Image
