Bought the Kid A Rogue

Post by Jim Dickinson »

I saw a pretty good deal on a used Rogue and contacted my 22 year old son and asked him if he would like it, he said yes, so it is being sent to him. I am sending him an amp and have a tuner on order for hin, so that part will be covered, but he will need a bar, which I don't have. I was thinking he could use a 1/2" deep socket wrench (about 3/4" OD) until I could get him something, but they are 2 1/2" inches long, maybe too short. He's a talented young man, but knows absolutely nothing about music, much less a steel guitar.
He lives in another state, so he is on his own, any ideas of where I should point him? I like Rick's you tube postings, but as this is a six string, they might not be too applicable for one of no knowledge. Any ideas here?

On another matter, since I am barely ahead of him, what do you think of Cindy Cashdollar's Western Swing DVDs as anther resource? Thinking of buying one for myself.

Jim, start a thread looking for a Forumite near where your son lives. Someone to help him get started.

Jim,
I suggest you start a new thread with a title somethin' like," Beginner looking for help in Orange, Cali" That way guys who aren't much interested in Rogue guitars will still check your thread if they're from that area.
Best,
JB

Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!!
