Miley Cyrus- She's got it
I just caught Miley Cyrus on Jay Leno. The sixteen year old kid puts it out there with soul. She actually sings on key! A rarity in today's pitch corrected world. Excellent performing ability also. Taylor Swift is not even in her league. Its such a pleasure to see a kid with some real talent. She's riding the Hanna Montana thing, but I predict she will have an acting/singing career afterward. Excellent performance on Leno with her band. Good luck to her.

OK Steve, not to belabor a point, but first, the news article is a year old, supposedly taken from a People magazine press release. I can't find out anything about it on People's website. Also, the billion dollar figure is a projected number, the definition of projected being: "To calculate, estimate, or predict (something in the future), based on present data or trends."
I'm sure if you will do some current research, you will find she's not worth anything close to a billion dollars. That's Oprah territory.

I have seen her here in Nashville in concert twice, and she really delivered the goods both times. Her voice has that kind of sound that an older singer usually has (one that might have been abused a bit but makes for a cool sounding tone/timbre). It makes her sound older than she is. A lot of the Disney kids sound just like the kids that they are, but Miley really has something extra special... I think.

I fully agree Paul. I am usually highly critical but Miley can really lay it down with chops. She's got it. She also has a very healthy attitude in not taking herself or her fame so seriously. That will serve her immensely in the years to come as she is bargained over in the pop entertainment business. Movies here we come. By the way, most superlative tonight on your solo song on the show.
