Joe Casey,Joe Nichols is to real of a deal for the Industry country music business folks who are running the show. You know the ones who pay for the Billing. It's all about big money. I don't fit in that kiss them to me in the circle that we gave, or was it high-jacked to be who I am. My 38 years of service to the Academy of Country Music for the love of Country music as a whole is all but gone. Now,I'm just starting over as a new comer and hope the new younger don't steel my gig.You think I got a chance? When radio stations became booking agents and mother against musicians, you can say it all over but the crying. Take care my friend and hope our neighborhoods can pull together to change what the President of The United States of Country music was. :x :x :x :aside: Leo J.Eiffert,Jr.

I'm voting for Ray Price, George Jones, Darrell McCall, Amber Digby, and Justin Trevino.

Seriously, it's a shame that people have become so mixed and confused with country, pop, and rock that there's no place for true country artist in the awards anymore. Real country has become a niche music. I think that instead of redefining country music, the new Nashville artist should create a music category of their own. The term "country" is already taken, so they should leave it alone.

Charles, you are totally right about Dale Watson. He's should be on that list. But,he don't have big money behind him to put him there. It's a big money game for the fame. If it was for real talent 80% of them wouldn't be there. The real art of a Musicians or Entertainer is all but gone. The big plow shows are for the hearth people who just want to be a part of some. I was there people. But,it fun seeing all them Artist being so happy to controled by the people they pay. The Music Business is a crazy game and I love it. Leo J.Eiffert,Jr.

Theresa,That would be great for Strait. But, it's a " Chesney " thing. All these winning things are of big money in a ring around the rosie game. It's so fixed you might as well dance in the mud. You'd get a better reaction of what is true. The only good thing out of all of this is we still have some Steel Guitar in them songs coming out for awhile. :o Sincerely in music,Leo J.Eiffert,Jr.

The absence of some folks and inclusion of others denegrates the list as far as I'm concerned. How are Paul Franklin and Stuart Duncan "not" on the list of nominated musicians?!?!

This explains the nomination and voting process. First you have to be a member of the ACM $75.00 for an individual. A board has to review the nominations to make sure they meet their standards. If you won in the previous year, you can't be nominated for the current year. After a year has passed, you can be nominated again.

Sorry Steve. I certainly didn't intend to diminish your accomplishments or those of other nominees... Although, it seems that's exactly what I did. It just seems there are some glaring omissions. Since I posted that comment earlier, I was informed that previous winners are excluded for some period of time... (it appears this only applies to "special" awards). Once again, I apologize if I offended you. I posted an opinion in haste without any facts... for what it's worth; my opinion and $0.25 won't get you a cup of coffee in most places.
