A lot of folks have been waiting for this one for a long time and by and large, a lot of great writing, photography, and design work have been invested here to tell the story of PA Bigsby - a true pioneer who deserves much more credit for his contributions to the guitar and steel industry than he's gotten over the years. There are many fabulous color photos of Bigsby steels and standard guitars as well as photos and ephemera including a CD with Bigsby's voice (I've just seen the galleys and haven't heard the CD). Curiously missing is a comprehensive list of all Bigsby guitars and production dates - something that forumites have informally tried to produce in the past. There are some conspicuous guitars missing here - such as Budd Isaac's guitar but all-in-all, this is a drool-worthy book and a much-needed addition to the literature of guitar and steel guitar. Congratulations to author Andy Babiuk for all the time and effort it must have taken to write the book and locate these instruments and to the publisher for going full-color and treating the material so well.
