CD release

Well I've been having the traditional approach-avoidance inner conflict about making this announcement here on the Forum among all the great steel players, but I'd like for y'all to hear some fine new, original music by a songwriter who knows and respects the old standards. My steel playing is secondary to these songs, as it should be.

Go to www.milesofmusic.com and see the announcement for the new CD by Thad Cockrell and the Starlite Country Band. We went into a studio last August and cut a demo of 7 songs in as many hours. All of it 1-2 takes and no time for polish. Well, the thing really started selling because the songs are just darn good. Now it's been picked up by some radio stations. The Miles Of Music folks came out to hear us play at the South By Southwest music conference in Austin in March and now they're distributing the disc.

I know for certain that anyone who likes twangy country music in the traditional vein will like these songs. There are 4 Real Audio samples you can check out on the MOM site, and the disc is 8 tunes, including a cover of Together Again (the only cover tune on the CD) that we recorded at a later date for adding it to the CD once Miles of Music picked it up.
