Recall of Coated Finger picks

Post by Andy Hinton »

To all the Steelers who ordered the first run of my coated picks & liked the feel but were disapointed because they pealed too soon; I've discoverd the reason & the fix.
As of now, If you will send them back to me, I will clean, prime & recoat them at no charge & send them back to you. The priming is the part I left out & is critical to keeping the coating on.
In case you've lost my mailing address, it's;

Thanks for working with us on this Andy. It was worth the effort. The new process is a big improvement and Andy's product is excellent. You don't have to wear them as tightly -- they don't chew up your fingers -- AND don't fall off your fingers.

Thanks Larry; you're one of a few that let me know so I could try to fix this. Glad you're happy with the new process.
Charlie, you're too much. Are you gonna send me yours or wait till the next medicare jam & swap 'em then? Either ways fine with me. I 'preciate both you guys. Andy H.

Andy

I temporarily misplaced the ones you sent me, so they haven't had to work-out that they otherwise might have. I happen to have been working with Larry of late, and he's kept me up-to-date with developments. If it's okay, I'll pop my two pairs in the mail to you.

I'm sure we all appreciate your standing behind your product.

Thanks Al & Crowbear; You really know how to make an old phart feel good.
Crowbear; since you're sending 1 more than you said in your last email, deduct $7.00 from the price I quoted you when you do the paypal.
Some have asked about me coating other picks; I can't buy & stock all brands, but If you have some you want coated, send them to the address above with $1.00 per pick plus $2.00 postage for the lot & I'll do them for you as they arrive. thanks Andy H.

Hi Andy I got two pair from you not to long ago and Mine & someone elses were the first ones you coated.HU I'm the first one in the State of Rhode Island back in 2001 to have two coated Stents put in my heart how about that.I don't need to send mine back right do I.I hope not I love these picks. I bought two pair from you a pair of Black and a pair of red. What I have done is I put a Red one on my Finger next to my thumb and a black on my middle finger this way you don't get them mixed up.They feel good and they stay on great.I thought that the red ones would make me get hot on the Steel but it did not work I'm still slow on pickin. Thanks Andy from one old Fart to another.

Hey Sam: Yes, you don't need to send yours back. Those were the first batch I primed before the coating. They should last just long enough for you to think you got your moneys worth, then they'll peal & you'll have to order some more. :) :) :) Just kidding. Don't know how long they'l hold up but it'll be muck longer than the first unprimed ones. Did you have a meeting of the asso. yet & show them off? Glad you like 'em. Thanks for the post. Andy H.

Al: I was 15 yrs old & sneaking into honky tonks here in N. La. playing a 6 string Silverton lapsteel & shootin' picks on the dance floor just like you. Those were the Days. (I do believe thats a song) I did get to do a few gigs with Red Sovine about then. Just before he died, Jack Mathews told me he followed me with Red & played for him yrs. Also filled in with Hank Sr. once before Don Helms time cause his Steel man passed out & I was there.
As I said; THOSE WERE THE DAYS. Andy H. :D :D

Thats great Sam. I'll look forward to hearing from some of them.
FYI. I'm hoping to go to the TSG show in Dallas in March with a good batch of picks. Maybe Donna Newberry or someone will let me set in their booth & sell a few. Can't afford to rent one on my own just to sell picks. Perhaps Jerry will take some picks as compensation for space. :) .The trip will depend of my wife's condition. She's been on Hospice for a year now with the big C in her liver. MAYBE?! Meantime, see my add in (Forsale Amps & ACCessories) Thanks. Andy H.

Hi Andy,
I'll be sending back two of the three sets I got. I'll keep the third set since I already tried the "shrink wrap" method on those.
Thanks!

Someone just asked in a PM about delivery time when ordering by mail & I replied but didn't answer that part. Either Returning for recoat or ordering by mail usually takes 7 0r 8 days in the USA,Overseas, at least double that. Best we can do with snail mail but it is the least expensive. Thanks all. Andy H.

Thanks for the heads up Clovis; Just checked my records & am hoping to get all 42 orders back for a redo. I have everyones names & addresses but time doesn't allow me to contact all individually, thus this post. JUST SEND 'EM BACK. Unclude a note if you'd like any color changes. Doesn't cost anything to do that for you. Thanks Andy H.
