well ive had my PP sd-10 now for about a month
the first 2 weeks gettin over the truck wreck
now the stiffness of wreck gone
Man what tone!! this steel has it
I dont think they make any emmons guitars that dont sound good but pp sounds great to me
my 2 favorites are the pp and the skh
well I been playing emmons for a good many years
they have never let me down other then a broke string ever now and then and even that has been
not much at all.....
this sd-10 rosie is wonderfull!!
Bryans going to rework the knees to fit my
large leggs but that will be later

Mike, I started my steel journey in 1969 with a D-10 Black Emmons PP. Made a mistake and sold it when I went to a universal. I am back home now with an S-12 Ext. E-9 black Emmons PP and this is the last guitar I will ever own. Once that PP sound gets into your head, nothng else will do.

I currently own an Emmon's D10 SKH bought new #0015L probably the first one sold. Also recently bought an S10 pp mid 70's. Both guitars have outstanding tone. I bought a new D10 pp in 1970, never really impressed with the tone and sustain of that one, sold it, no regrets. Guess some have IT, some don't. Have a Sho-Bud Super Pro D10 refurbished by Marrs and a Derby D10 both those have wonderful tone as well although a bit more mellow. Remember... "if you're gonna play em, play em good".

I know exactly what you mean when you say " I just forgot how good they sound." I had a gig a couple of years ago that had four full rehearsal days before the show. I took another brand (very sought after and highly regarded) all pull guitar to the first three days of rehearsal because it had humbuckers on it and the rehearsal studio was very hummy. It sounded OK but I was struggling a bit to make the tone fit the music. I decided to tough out the noise on the final day and bring my fave P/P. It was like someone turned the "good switch" on. I remember thinking "wow, that's it!" I played the show with the P/P and it was so easy to get the tone that was just right.

I agree! I took my p/p to my NY Eve gig and also the gig we had last night and realize I had forgotten the responsiveness and wonderful tone of this guitar. Even though it's difficult to have all the bells and whistles available on an all pull, maybe the trade off is worth it.

figured out how to adjust e lower
and second string lower made it a lot more easy to play now I can wear the steel............

Wonderful sound. 1971 cuttail design (Same as The
Blade ) that Buddy made all those good sounding cuts
with years ago.
I play a single 12 pp extended E9 on all our gigs and some studio work. Can't beat this guitar. I have owned it for about 15 years and have learned to adjust things and maintain the guitar properly. I have owned 3 other brands but none compare to the pp. I love the sound and everything else about this guitar.
