Need title/artist of a 60's instrumental

OK, I know this is a long shot.

I don't know the name of the song, the artist, or the year.
I'm guessing it's from the mid to late 60's.
It's an instrumental, and may have been done on a harpsichord.
The beat/rhythm sort of reminds me of "Baby Elephant Walk".

I have went to Amazon, searched for 60's instrumental hits, and listened to the samples.
No luck.

All I know is that I can hear the melody in my head.
I figure one of you guys, especially Donny Hinson, may be able to take a shot at it.

Yeah, the Mar Keys "Last Night" is what came to my mind too. I doubt that's a harpsichord, but rather sounds like organ stops set like that. I think this was actually put out in the early 60s, but I remember hearing it often later.

What about the theme to the third man? It's done on the hackbrett which is atype of hammered dulcimer.

Well, "No Matter What Shape", "Love Is Blue" both came to my mind, as well as "Alley Cat". Since you mentioned harpsichord, I'd have to throw "Calcutta" in there too. Maybe Prado's "Patricia" (although that was an organ, and substantially earlier). You can check all these (and others) out on YouTube, and if none are a match...maybe we could buy a vowel? :wink:

I want to thank all of those who offered up a serious attempt at this. As I said in my original post, I knew it was very vague and a long shot to begin with. I wish I had more to go on. But some of the guys on this forum have a lot of "history", so I gave it a shot.

The reason I'm looking for it is that I want to remake a rock version of it.

I have went through all of the responses, but have yet to get a match. Some good responses, too: I had forgotten about "Alley Cat", and do see how someone could make that connection.

When going to youtube to check out the suggestions, I also clicked on some of the related videos, but no luck. I also took another stab at Amazon to listen to some of the album samples.

Craig: I went to that site you suggested. I have a feeling that they don't go back that far in time though. I also tried tapping in a few recent things just to see how it worked, and I didn't have much luck with that either. Neat site, though.

Anyway, thanks again. If anyone gets another flash as to what song I'm looking for please post.

Left field thought: The harpsichord and "Baby Elephant Walk" beat make me think of the "Theme From The Munsters".

That seems to beg the question: If you can hear it in your head why don't you just sit down and play it?
