Truetone vs Tonealigner
Hi all. In general, what is the difference in tone between Truetone and Tonaligner pickups? Is one hotter or warmer than the other? Frequency response?

I believe TruTone is a single coil. It may pickup hummm that exists where you are at the moment. It can pick up unwanted hum, but that is not a fault of the pickup.
The Tone Aligner is a humbucker all the way, and you may adjust all the pole -piece magnets with an allen wrench to get your sound just right. 20 pole pieces on a 10 string pup. 24 on a 12 string pup.
I have one of each and can interchange them on my MSA M3. To me each one has a different sound, but they are both good sounds. I adjust my amp as needed.
In general, the higher the DC resistance on a pup, the warmer the sound. The lower the resistance, the brighter the sound.
I believe one can order either pup with the amount of DC resistance required.
