Good exposure!
Talk about relaxing the wardrobe rules on the Opry! Image if she had made any quick moves? I'm assuming Pete Fisher would say, Hey! you want country? she uses steel guitar!

i didn't hate it....it seemed that the steel player was really working overly hard to play that one lick over and over. maybe it was performance drama and showmanship...like sitting low and far away from the steel so his arms could flex more and look cool...kinda like guitar players hanging their guitars really low and jumping up and down.

70's/80's Rock and Roll. It appears that country music has relocated from Nashville to Texas...Justin Trevino, Amber Digby, Jake Hooker, etc... I used to tolerate a lot of static on 650AM just to hear Weldon, Leon, Joe Edwards, Jimmy Capps, etc... now I have no interest at all in what the Opry has evolved to. My lack of approval means nothing to the Opry, and it shouldn't, but they have certainly made a huge change in my life. I'm just thankful I was around to enjoy it while it was the country that I enjoy so much.

Oh, she may be as good as Loretta or Kitty. I don't know, it's this style of music being promoted as country that I have a problem with. If this was all there is to play, I'd auction all my instruments off to the higest bidder and call it quits.
I won't go to the "no talent, etc..." comments, because I believe these guys probably have as much talent and ability as my idols. I just put this music in the "more power to them, and I wish you the best, but I don't want to hear it" category.

Maybe a new category for the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame: "Acrobatic Steel Playing"
Steel builders: Maybe you should captialize on this and offer rockers as an option to legs on your steels. Then when one gets too old and feable and retires, they can just remove the steel frame and mount the seat in it's place. Wola...a rocking chair and no additional investment.
