It's great to have another forum dedicated solely to the Hawaiian steel guitar. I'm sure that under the care and keeping of Rick and Gerald, it has the best chance to thrive and become the place of vigorous activity that it never was in its earlier incarnation.

This was all Rick's doing. Congratulate him.

All I did was encourage him.

There's been alittle confusion in the registration process ...

Apparently the program sends out an "activation" link via email ... that needs to be clicked on ...

Then the computer sends out ... in another email ... your random password ...

This can be changed ... to whatever you like ... once you gain access to your "Profile".

So far ... 24 active members in 9 hrs ... Image

Rick, I received the activation email but still haven't received my password. About how long does it take to get the password?

I got the Pre-HSGA Convention password, so everything is up and running and I am a member.

The site looks impressive. You can personalize postings. Seems a little overwhelming because it is new.

I have already have two postings. Sort of experimenting to check out the possibilities.

This site is very cool. Plenty of cool ways to post. Once you are up and running it is easy.

Great Job Rick!

Do we get a special icon for charter members the first 24 hrs?

Nice work Rick.
I wish you and the HSGA all the best with it.

I'd change the white lettering on the black background. Maybe it's just me, but it strains my eyes. Red lettering on black is even worse.

Someday I'll attend a HSGA convention.

Rick & Gerald -- CONGRATULATIONS !!!

This is an excellent way to bring the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Family a little closer. We have to keep it clean and tactful and we will all share in the wealth of knowledge and experience that we all have. One question to Rick -- how do I access my profile.

After "Logging in" ... with your username and password ...

You will see a "profile button" along the top ... underneath the beautiful logo ... Amy Pace made us ...

This will prompt you to re-enter your password ... and give you access ... where you can edit anything in your profile.

Isn't an additional forum just going to water down both forums (fora ?). There's no shortage of space in this forum for Hawaiians.
Has any hawaiian player ever felt held back in this forum by the presence of bluegrass, blues and dance band players ?
From my obervation so far, I would have thought that the No Peddlars forum was probably
5% Blues.
40% County/Western Swing
40% Hawaiian
5% Everyone Else.

But what binds us together is the Steel Guitar. A Hawaiian Forum is going to bring in Slack-Key, traditional Hawaiian Folk Music, the Silky-Strings Hawaiian Elevator Music.

When I try to buy Hawaiian CDs I find that nowadays the steel guitar is almost entirely lacking from dealers' shelves.

Having just visited the HSGA Forum I take back what I said. I hadn't realized that the forum is dedicated to the Hawaiian STEEL Guitar.

Looks good so far. I registered. Let's see how it goes.

The HSGA had a Forum... when our "Website" was first opened up ... but it lacked some features that this one has.

The re-establishment of HSGA's forum is simply another feature of our ever growing ... body of information, membership and enthusiasm for Hawaiian Steel Guitar ..

That is showcased on our newly designed website.

Hey Rick,

I just signed up a minute ago and I'm now waiting for my password. I would have signed up sooner but was tied up all week.

I think this is going to be a nice forum and hope I'm able to post something worthwhile once in a while.

Thanks Rick for your work on this.

Regards,
Danny
