Ralph Emery's Opry Almanac TV Show: House Band ID's
Here is a link to Ralph Emery's 3/8/66 Opry Almanac TV Show with Roger Miller, Charlie Louvin, Thumbs Carlisle and Jerry Allison.
I am trying to identify the musicians in the house band, i.e, the drummer, guitarist, Fender bass player, and piano player. Appreciate any help with naming these musicians. The piano player sounds like Beggie Adair (?)

Hey Bob... I was just talking about that clip with Harold Bradley and Steve Gibson and asked them the same thing; the pianist is definitely Beegie (Cruiser then, Adair now) and the guitarist is Jimmie Colvard. That surprised me because I associate him with "Six Days on the Road" and that sound, very different from the clearly jazz influenced arch-top playing on that show. I'm embarrassed to say that they also told me who the bass player and drummer were and that it's slipped my mind...
What an awesome clip though, isn't it? The first few minutes alone are priceless, nothing like pulling an all night drunk before a live morning TV show! Now THATS country; old school!
Steve Gibson is doing a lot with Gaylord, reissuing archival stuff and I asked him if there were more from the Ralph Emery TV shows, he seemed to think that most of it was long gone, the old tapes erased over or destroyed somewhere along the line.

Pete, Thanks for ID's. We never would have guessed Jimmie Colvard! Do you think Harold said Buddy Rogers on drums?
We have a theory that Louvin brought in Capps for his spot. I will let you know if they can confirm on this. Roger Miller is playing Louvins' Gibson now in the Opry museum.
This clip has it all: Thumbs close up, Roger and Charlie singing great(6:30 AM),commercials, great house band. Country Music.

It was Buddy Rogers, and the bassist was Bobby Dyson.

Music hath the charm to soothe a savage beast, but I'd try a 10mm first.
