HERE is my first attempt at using Sonar 7 DAW software. CAUTION it is a full wav file and is 31MB. I didn't want to post an MP3 as it's something less than full fidelity. I recorded a CD project for Bill Box on my Fostex VF160 recorder, mixed it down to the PC and then did some "mastering" with Sonar 7. I'm in the very very basic stages of working with Sonar 7. As i listen to it, I think I will output each of the 8 tracks on the Fostex to Sonar and then "process" and remix entirely with Sonar.

The song is "Holding Things Together". Bill is a Bluegrass singer, from Nixa, Mo (near Branson) that wanted to do a "Country" CD. Bill was the guitar picker and singer for Bill Monroe in the mid 70's and then toured with his own Bluegrass band for many years. The Fiddle player, Bobby Johnston from Indiana, is also a Bluegrasser. Bill played his own rhythm, with a D-28 and with the Bluegrass influence it made it an "interesting" CD project.

The musicians on the session are: Bill Box Rhythm Guitar, Bobby Johnston Fiddle, Cal Akers Lead Guitar, Bernie Waldon Bass, Karl Congdon Drums and me on steel.

Jack sent me a copy to listen to last night.
I also thought he did a very professional job on Bill's CD.
For a 1st time user of Sonar I think he is on his way to some great recordings in the future.
