My New Country CD and TITLE are Here!

Post by Jim Cohen »

I'm pleased to announce the release of my newest CD of country classics. Many thanks to all the Forumites who played along in helping to name this new disc (wasn't that fun?)

Image

The winning title was submitted by BILL FISHER, and the two People's Choice Awards go to Mike Shefrin (for 'Down Home, James') and to Bill Hatcher (for 'Cohen Country'). Thanks guys! All 3 of you have won a free copy of the new CD. Email me your mailing addresses (unless you'll be in Dallas at the TSGA, where I will, of course, have the discs available).

The final decision was mainly based on me talking through the leading candidates with Forumite, Mike Ihde, who does my graphics and us brainstorming graphics ideas together. When we found a title and graphical concept that worked well together, we grabbed it! Thanks to Mike for another superb job! (If you ever need CD graphics, he's your man!)

Please come on by my website at www.JimCohen.com and click the link at the top, or on the left side for 'New CD'. You'll also be able to listen to clips of the songs and order a copy of the CD, thanks to the great website work done for me by Forumite Rob Hamilton. I can't recommend Rob highly enough if you need web support.

I also have full Rhythm Tracks for the entire CD available. This are the actual tracks remixed without the steel so you can play along (sorry, no tab at this time). Songs include:

I Always Get Lucky with You
Green, Green Grass of Home
Shuffle Off to Tupelo
Tennessee Waltz
Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain
Mansion on the Hill
Let it be Me
Neverending Song of Love
End of the World
Different Drum

So come on by and visit at www.JimCohen.com and please be sure to sign the Guestbook!

Thanks everyone,

Jimbeaux

New CD

Post by Rob Hamilton »

Hey, thanks for the kind words, Jim.

It's a great new CD, folks. I've been listening to the mp3 clips, now posted on Jim's website, for a few days now, and it's another gem with the same great playing and instrumentation as we've heard in prior releases. I highly recommend it, and anxiously await a copy, which I will order momentarily.

Exactly Jim what are you saying and should I feel insulted? :D Wait till I talked to Laney.
I can do more than Root-Five, I can do Root-Three-Five if you need something complicated!

My favorite country song you do is 'Someday Soon' from your 'Finally Here' CD and believe it or not I sit around playing with 'Bus Stop' since it has a very cool bass line (the steel playing isn't too bad either).

Jim, it's a wonderful CD, as I knew it would be. And a clever name. As for not choosing the name I submitted, you'll probably read about that in the thread about disappointments from your musical heroes.

In some circles that might not be considered a compliment, but knowing you Al, I'm planning to take it as one! :) Thanks!

I'm glad you noticed, Tommy. There are a few more other 'touches' like that hidden in the photo. See if you can find 'em.

Thanks for your orders, folks. I'll have both CDs and full Rhythm Tracks at the Dallas TSGA show, so come on by my table and say 'howdy'. Also, I'll be performing a few selections from the CD during my set, which I understand is around 6pm on Friday.

Preview clips are available now at www.JimCohen.com Just click on the link there for 'New CD'.

Hey Jim, The album cover looks absolutely great. Mike Ihde did a superb job as usual. I love the rope lettering. Can't wait to hear it, and hope you'll sell lots of copies.

I just received my copy of Jim's new CD and I have to say that this is a wonderful recording. Great arrangements of some classic tunes, and Jim's sound and playing are simply beautiful. He even sings  on the tune "Never Ending Song Of Love" ( this is actually my favorite cut on the album where Jim lays down some real hot country pickin') I highly recommend it to y'all.
