Jealously Insane: lyric check

Post by Drew Howard »

Jealously Insane

Jealously Insane

There’s no end to the love I have for you
If you promise me one thing that I don’t do
In your mind you imagine crazy things
Why must you be so Jealously Insane

Your jealous heart is breaking mine in two
You say that there are others
In my thoughts that still love you

I’ll bring a passion and set your heart aflame
Why must you be so Jealously Insane

Break

Your jealous heart is breaking mine in two
You say that there are others
In my thoughts that still love you

I’ll bring a passion and set your heart aflame
Why must you be so Jealously Insane

Why must you be so Jealously Insane

----------------------------------

Sound about right?

I think there's a line about "green eyed passion" isn't there? Or am I making that up?

Nearly all my cds and records are in storage right now, so I can't check.

Here's a link to Amber Digby doing it (the song, that is). You can check your lyrics against hers! :)

As a bonus, you can listen to Dickey Overbey on steel. :)

It looks like you're really close.

The only changes I'd make are:

You say that there are others
In my thoughts instead of you...

and

While green eyed passion sets your heart aflame...

Drew, the version I'm most familiar with is on Johnny Bush's 1968 album, Sound Of A Heartache. The lyric on that version is:

"Your jealous heart is breaking mine in two
You say that there are others
In my thoughts intead of you

While green-eyed passion sets your heart aflame
Why must you be so jealously insane...."

If I'm not mistaken, the song was written by Johnny. BTW: Jimmy Day played the steel on that version.

Keep on pickin'!

Why does this remind me of too many individuals
that I have known.

If I can not be sure of
controling ALL your thoughts,

then I will go mad.
TELL ME!
NOW!!
DLD, Chili farmer. Plus bananas and papaya too.

Real happiness has no strings attached.
But pedal steels have many!

There's no end to the love I have for you
You punish me for things that I don't do
