Stu. No, you should leave the television off.

(With apologies to the musicians and performers - they're not to blame.)

"Electronic' or 'digital" Pitch correction by vocalists oughta be criminalized.

That way they win.

A better plan is to ignore what you don't like, and support what you do.

Purchase some CDs of artists doing the style you like.
They need your support.

Thank God for Little Big Town and kenney Chesney who put a little country into the show and we had a hockey game on TV here so I was able to switch back and forth. The Eagles sounded great and looked more country than most acts. I guess this new wave country is what sells and that's what it's all about.

There use to be a saying " If it smells it sells"..Certainly this group of overdressed pig farmers (my apologys to the Pig farmers)proves that slop fattens the producers bank accounts..And many people don't mind the its taste..I watched strictly for the EAGLES who were more country than most of the screaming memes.Lets face it if Country music isn't dead then they buried it alive.c2006

Lost all interest in the "Award" show, when they change the name and take the word "Country" out of the title perhaps I will watch. Its all great music but very little "Country" anymore. The Entertainer award is a joke...it should be changed to "The gross sales award" has nothing to do with entertaining.
Homer & Jethro, The Geezinslaws, Ray Stevens, these are the kinds of acts that entertain!

Did they have a steel player? Honestly, I didn't notice. I thought the Eagles were especially unremarkable in an unremarkable show. That song they did was a far cry from their best ... :\

I loved it during Carrie Underwood's set where she had this big string section with the guitars behind them with a dobro player. The sound of a steel guitar came thru loud and clear but was not to be seen anywhere.

This is the second year where I've heard it but not seen it.

Gheezz......

I didn't hear or see any steel during the Eagles song,Those guys sing great.I felt really bad for the singer in Rascal Flatts when he was trading licks with Jamie Foxx,He was having vocal problems, and was losing his voice, but he gave it his best,I've heard him sing a few times before and I could tell his voice was going south.Miranda Lambert she still can't sing, cute though! If I had the choice to watch it again I would probably watch those Ultimate fighters beat the crap out of each other instead.

I thought it was very entertaining, not a lot of traditional country, but the musicianship was excellent. And, Jerry Douglas won Musician of the Year!

I thought Josh Turners steeler kicked some serious rear! Up in the mix, and blazing way more than the lead guit and fiddle.
I actually liked that song because of the steel.
Who is that guy?
