The following is the message I sent to folks on my mailing list. Only "Angel By Mistake" has steel. Since I'm the producer, writer, singer, musician, and chief bottle washer... blame me

While I love pedal steel and still gig regularly, I have come to the realization that for me, it is the song itself which is important. I am working on my second CD which will be released in late 2007 or early 2008. My first CD is now sold out and I don't plan to reorder. I don't really care about the money aspect but I am at least breaking even.

Here is the note I sent out:

Howdy folks,
I really hope you are having a wonderful Sunday morning. I wanted to thank you for listening to my songs. I'm not a star or incredible singer. I'm just someone who hears a tune in his heart and wants to share. If that somehow touches you, then I am blessed.

"Angel By Mistake" entered the country charts and slowly climbed. Yesterday, it hit #1! Ok... I'm just vain enough to be pleased.. I admit it.

My other recent tune "Icehouse Time in Texas" hit # 2 on the Alternative Country charts yesterday as well.

I will be doing another radio interview this week for the "Country Rose Show". I enjoy these as it lets folks know a bit about why I write songs.

I have posted a new song today in the "Acoustic" genre. I really had no idea exactly where to put it, so I stuck it there. It is a deeply personal tune about the little town I live in. Of all the tunes I have ever recorded, this one really gave me fits. I'm still not 100% happy with the result, but honestly... I never am.

I hope you enjoy this new tune. Just go to my music page and click on FM 46.
God Bless,
Steve Stallings
