I've mellowed out. I too love Johnny.

Many people think they know who Johnny Cash was, including me.
Read his autobiography: Cash, if you want to know who he really was.. I found out more in that book than I ever knew....
The movie Walk the line doesn't even scratch the surface.
Get it CASH: The Autobiography.
It is amazing reading. I have read it cover to cover twice.

Regarding "Folsum Prison Blues", it is overplayed by
most bar bands, but most of them treat it like it was
"Foggy Mountain Breakdown". It is really a fun song to do if you slow it down to the chugga-chugga groove
it is supposed to have. The first time I heard Cash's music was on the Midnite Jamboree coming thru
the static on an AM car radio. The bass wasn't in and the only thing going was Luther's dead string
rhythm. They were doing "Cry, Cry, Cry" and there was no sense of a key or pitch that I could discern.
My reaction was, "What is this, this guy'll never make it." The concept grew on me. Willie Nelson
knew exactly what he was doing years later with his minimalist approach on "Blue Eyes Crying in the
Rain."
