New tune - Angel Of The Morning - Gerald Ross

Post by Gerald Ross »

It's quite capricious when inspiration will strike you. :-?

I was driving in my car - on a journey to Kmart to buy drain cleaner when this tune came on the radio.

I thought "perfect uke tune".

I've always liked this song - bizarre as it is (22 bars in length). I always thought a British singer, someone like Marianne Faithful or Dusty Springfield recorded it. But no, West Coast singer Merilee Rush had this big 1968 hit.

I recorded this with my Talsma Tenor ukulele with it's new MI-Si pickup. The uke is plugged directly into the computer. The only mic used on the recording was on the guitar - my Gitane "Django" D-500. Band In A Box bass.

Beautiful, Gerald. Never would have thought that would make such a great instrumental.
