There have been several threads with regard to performance rights organizations (ASCAP, BMI, etc.) in just about every place but Hawaii. Of all the Hawaiian CDs I own (OK, purchased the right to possess and listen to), I noticed there are no affiliations with the above orgs. And maybe I didn't look hard enough, either.
So how do Hawaiian songwriters get paid royalties? Is there a local counterpart that monitors the radio stations and receives a yearly fee?
Hawaiian Performance Rights Associations?

This is not related to lap steel, but to Hawaiian music. Therefore I'm moving it to the Music section of the forum.
