Report it to eBay; they'll yank it.

The last 2 steels I have bid on , Ebay has canceled the bids and removed the auction. I don't want to take a chance. The last steel I bought was from the forum. No more ebay on large items for me!

Over $10,000 grand current bid with over 8 days left to bid? I know Fessendens are nice guitars but something ain't right here...aside from the fact that it's hot. - GP

I just bumped it up to $40,000. Let the a-holes that put up the auction get excited for a minute. Somebody has out bid me though !

Its weird how truly bad its gotten on the net. I put up some home audio speakers on Craig's list and within minutes I had 5 Nigerians all over me. Each with a different angle.

Don't Open OR Bid On Item

Post by Tim Bridges »

Unfortunately, I bid on a drum set that turned out to be bogus. What was worse, I won the bid and disn't know it was bogus until the money had been sent. I recovered the money, but it was a real heart-burning experience.

Now, just when you think it's over, you find out that the real scheme was that they acquired my password from the listing. Next thing you know, I'm buying and selling land, furniture, computers, etc. without ever bidding, or listing. This was really scary. Try to talk to a human, it's impossible unless you are a big time seller. Eventually, I recovered my losses. BUT, I am done with Ebay. The risk far exceeds the value anymore. Until Ebay can be secure, I will not open anymore Ebay listings.

As the internet evolves, eBay continues to strike a balance between preserving transparency and protecting our Community of members. eBay has decided to change how bid history information is displayed so bad guys cannot target bidders with fake offers using this information. In certain cases, some bidders will no longer be able to view Bidder User IDs on the Bid History page. Your User ID will be shown only to you and the seller of the item you're bidding on. Other members will see an anonymous name, such as Bidder 1, applied consistently to the Bid History page.
Well Whoop-de-Doo.....

I just looked, it's now up to $250,100; could it be "buy-bidding" like they used to do at cattle auctions when I was a youngster? :shock:

The auction got cancelled;

Dear Alvin Blaine
The following listing:

280079297583 - FESSENDEN PEDAL STEEL GUITAR

has been removed from eBay for violating eBay policy. Since this listing was removed, you are not required to complete the transaction.

I was so close to getting it, I just needed another $250,000 and it would have been mine!!
