The steel-playing is exquisite (and I'd say that even if I hadn't known and admired Greg Leisz for 20+ years ), but I find the
song selection far less uplifting and inspiring than the first B R R album way back when I was in college and Socrates was my undergraduate counselor. (John Denver's "Back Home Again" isn't the worst, but "Heaven's Just A Sin Away"???---ouch...)

I'll give you that on Denver, but on the other hand, if I'd been on a different planet back in the the day and had never heard the original "Back Home Again," I'd probably have a much easier time with this version.
As far as "Heaven," I kind of like it, he gives it sort of an Everly Brothers/Louvin Brothers treatment.
