IMO, Gwyneth gave them all a singing lesson. Zac Brown Band was notable for it's lack of pretentiousness. The rest of the show looked and sounded pretty much like past years. Patting yourself on the back - it's either your bag, or it isn't. Not my bag…..

My hope is that by getting these out of the way in advance, it will allow us all to just sit back and enjoy the show should we, in fact, choose to watch.

Glad to help.

Rick - I'm embarrassed to say that I can't tell whether or not you're kidding but if not, my apologies even if I'm not actually sure where the bad taste was.

The post was simply meant as a slightly tongue-in-cheek summary of what we always seem to hear. (And, as I also mentioned subsequently, those aren't, in fact, my impressions of the show - I usually LIKE watching the CMAs. Or was the bad taste the commentary on others' perceptions?)

Miming

Post by Bob Snelgrove »

Seemed like all the bands were live this year vs. the trend toward miming over the last few years.

Or am I thinking of another show?

My station had great ratings yesterday. Glad Nashville got some money from folks but I donated last month and had a memorable night at the Ryman.

Her movie Country Strong, where she plays a country singer in Nashville being passed over for the young beauty queen chick, comes out next month.
The soundtrack is already out and has four cuts by Gwyneth. Country Strong Soundtrack download at Amazon.

Just for the sake of completeness:

"It's not that ________ is a lousy singer. They just had a bad monitor mix, that's all."
