I will be there from Wednesday to Sunday.

I will be located at the sound booth in the main ballroom as a member of the sound team again this year along with Bill Ferguson and the rest on the team.

Stop by and say hello. We'd love to be reacquainted with old friends and meet some new friends as well.

Cheers,

Kurt

Convention

Post by DeWitt Scott »

My family and I will be there the whole time. We are looking forward to seeing each one of you. We will not have the large sign hanging on the stage this year. I don't fully understand what the sign will actually be. It will be projected from the sound stage and we will have an overhead camera, (thanks Joe) that will show the player and his hands. The sign will not be on view during this but will reappear between players. There will be clips of previous shows and some logos on the screen too.

If you are seated on the left or right side of the stage then you know that the speakers always hide some of the things you really want to see. Not this year! Don Lanier of Pearl Sound Company is elevating the speakers in the air so the stage will be free of speakers that normally sit on the stage. WoW. See you in St. Louis and SOONER than you think! Scotty

Upside Down

Post by Chuck Campbell »

Mike, over my 40 years of flying I have done some aerobatics, not on purpose but accidentally. I have considered taking some lessons from the Capt. After I’ve had a couple, I would like to take you, Randy and Russ up to show you what I have learned. We could start with a tail slide. Could I get a commitment here? We’ll talk about it in St Louis.

Aerobatics? I thought I'd get to see you doing cartwheels, and somersaults. And I think I'll pass on the ride. See you in St.Louis.

Tommy and I will arrive Thursday afternoon and stay until Sunday afternoon.

As always, we are VERY excited about the show. I wonder if Scotty has any idea just how much joy his show brings the steel guitar families?

This year is especially exciting for me, as my cousins, Tony & Lyn Davis are coming over from Australia!!!

ALSO, I will get to hug the neck of the Forum's Great Possum King!! Jennings Ward is quite ill, but his wife, Jane is driving him to St. Louis with oxygen, wheel chair and all the ingredients to make some possum stew. I cannot wait to meet these dear people!!

See you all there!!
