NIce job! I love the tone of your steel as well. It's very "steely" :D .

This is a version of Cold Cold Heart recorded live at The Broken Spoke by James "Slim" Hand featuring Cindy Cashdollar on Stringmaster.

and this is a version by Texas Steeler Extrordinaire Ricky Davis, also recorded live.

Here is my entry into this fun thread.

http://glassbars.com/ColdColdHeart_Boyett.mp3

Thank you Rick for the host!

I was recording my version and decided to get my son Jeff into it also. I play the more traditional role and let Jeff jazz it up a little.

I am using a Melobar Red Rattler (and of course a glass bar) ;)
Jeff is using his Schecter Hell Raiser.

We hope you enjoy this little ditty...

OK, I'll join in. Here's one on my Deneeve dobro with rhythm guitar played by one of my pals on an old J45 Gibson.

I had some fun working up my arrangement for Cold, Cold Heart, featuring my Dobro, lap steel and (gasp!) pedal steel. Thanks, Rick, for the rhythm track and for all of your efforts to promote the lap steel.

Super job, Chuck - I especially like the exotic harmonies in the 3rd & 4th verses!
and the ending is definitely cool . .

Nice job, all. It's cool to hear the variations on the theme and hear everyone's individual tone and feel. Awesome! Where's Au Hoy? Jeff, you'll no doubt smoke us all.

I played classical guitar for 20 years before switching to steel, so I couldn't resist trying to come up with something he might have done with the melody. It's in a piano midi voice, written with the free "Noteworthy Composer" program, and recorded on the free "Hi-Q recorder".

I'll have a go at it over the weekend. I think the reason you haven't had many entries is because the song is mainly vocal and relies on the words.

Norm Evans sent this rendition and asked me to post it for him.

Thanks to Rick Alexander for posting this for me. I used my 1957 D-8 Stringmaster and Gibson 335 to record the song.

Now this is the closest to what I hear in my head of what this steel instro tune should be like.
