Is W.C. still involved with Steelseats, or did he sell out? He made me a set of split cases for a Sho Bud Pro III several years ago and did a great job. Soon after, he quit building cases and started building seats. I haven't seen him in several years, I hope he is doing well.

MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, a restored MSA Classic SS, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also have a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks, and a showroom condition Sho-Bud Super Pro.

Darvin,
Thom Beeman bought the company from Mr. Edgar and, as far as I know, he is no longer involved in the business.

WC Edgar seat

Post by David Nugent »

I have one of WC's seats that is a few years old and the one unique feature I really enjoyed was the removable accessory tray. This feature made it much simpler to locate things on dark stages because the tray could be carried separately into better lighting.... It is my understanding that the new models have stationary compartments similar to others being manufactured. (Please correct me if I am wrong.)

David, please send me pictures of your seat and inside compartment, I haven't seen one with the removable tray. When I took over the company from WC he was making the stationary divider. We have the divider in with two angle braces so it can be moved to accomodate each persons needs. We have also put light grey coverings inside so you can find things on a darkened stage.
WC is no longer involved in the seat business. He has signed a recording contract and his first CD has been released, and he's getting ready for a years tour. If you've never heard him sing your in for a pleasant surprise.

Fantastic seat and Thom is top of the line. My seat is about 4 years old, used for both practice and 3 to 6 gigs a week and still is just like new.

Hey Stu,
I have one of WC's seats (got one of his last batch...) and I like it real well. It's on the heavy side but it's real roomy and real comfortable. Besides, I had it done in fake tooled leather - how can you beat that?

Stu, I still don't have Anchorage on my itinerary. You can bet when I get back up there I'll look you up. Hopefully I'll get to hear you play again when I do get there. I want to see your Desert Rose and your Dekely!

I had the pleasure of meeting Thom at Dallas this year, great guy and top quality seats.I got mine from W.C. a couple of years ago and wish I had got it years before, top quality! I can recommend them to anyone knowing that Thom is producing the same high quality and superb service.Mine has been admired by a lot of players over here in thr UK and Europe.
