Obviously the seller just doesn't know how it goes together.
FYI $275 is only the opening price - you can't "buy" it for that. The auction has 6 days to go!if i had $275.00 i would buy it

Well, that's kind of out of left field. FYI, the Starter is a real steel, one that probably stays in tune a lot better than that Sho-Bud in your picture.William Fraser wrote:I finally saw one up close the other day, THANK GOD for real steels
I'm not taking this personally. I've owned a number of steels. I bought a Starter because I have back problems and the Starter is very light weight. Stays in tune a lot better than the Sierra Crown I had. I use it on gigs. Works fine.
Sho-Bud snobbery?
Another benefit of the Starter, as opposed to a more expensive steel with more pedals and knee levers, is that your are limited by the simplicity of Carter and must develop your technique and bar work, rather than just stomping on a bunch of pedals. It helps you learn how to play steel faster than learning on a more complex machine, in my opinion.

Everyone in the world has two jobs: 1) whatever they do for a living; and 2) music critic.

Well let me see, I have one Pedal Rack, Three Rods, Four legs, Some folding things under the guitar Hmmmmm. HONEY. What became of all that packing material I left on the living room floor. OH! Well Did you see any thing that looked like an instruction sheet before you did that?
There are two thoughts on this, It is being sold because the seller does not know how to set it up, or the seller has taken the insterment to an Ebay Dealer to have the insterment sold and the Dealer has no idea how to set the insterment up. I preferr the latter explination.

I can certainly see why it's never been used.Up for auction is a Carter-Starter Pedal Steel Guitar in like-new, never been used condition.
THAT statement, I have a problem with. The Carter-Starter Pedal Steel Guitar is very user-friendly, and is designed especially for students.
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

..that looks like the same setup the infamous Swedish bluegrass/disco "musicians" Rednex used when they did an apalling lip-sync number in last year's Eurovision Song Contest tryouts. On the soundtrack, there was clearly a lap steel, but on stage was a pedal steel assembled the wrong way around. The guy (looking like a scarecrow) sitting behind it clearly had no clue, he was just moving the bar back and forth all the way up the neck, all the time. Disgusting...
(Apparently, the rights to their songs and recordings up to now are up for sale for a few million dollars. A group of people are raising money to buy them - with the intent to lock'em up for ever, away from human ears)

Way to go Herb...
Now somebody has come up with the ideal sales catchphrase... A "user friendly" pedal steel guitar.
Would that be one having an "intuitive" interface? Perhaps there is a need in this world for an alternate pedal steel guitar operating system... A WYSIWYG version instead of that clunky old command line stuff.
Mine have all been "user-unfriendly" for many years. Not necessarily of bad attitude, just uncooperative.
