Metal-face Session 400 on ebay

For those that know, these are about the best sounding pedal steel amps ever made for push/pull Emmons. The metal-face amps are from 74 -- early 75 as I recall...
Definitely different tone from later models. FWIW, it is not mine, and I don't know anything about it except the advert...

MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, a restored MSA Classic SS, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also have a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks, and a showroom condition Sho-Bud Super Pro.

Tom, how can you tell for sure it's a metal panel? I know the knobs are silver, but I've seen a lot of these where the black 'dots' are peeled off and from a distance they look like those flat face metal knobs that Peavey used prior to that. Did you ask the guy? I'd like to have one of those first year(?) '74 Session 400s.
I'm a die-hard Session 400 fan, and I think I'm going to buy another one, these used 400s are the best bang for buck out there IMO.

Old Amps
I had one with the old JBL in it, that and the session 500 were the only steel amps peaver ever made. And boy i still miss that amp to this day. Seems i've lost, bet away, sold, or gave away better amps then anyone makes today. That's why i am so overly protective of my old webb, i got from Jimmy Webb himself. I stopped using it a few months ago. It's like me now semi retired...it sits in my studio with my other valued treasures. My webb still looks just like brand new. Except for the cover Gary Preston made for it. I had jimmy webb sign 3 owners manuals for me. That way if i loose one. I still have the others he signed.
