Well, it's interesting, but ugly.

Nice twist on the machine gun in a violin case.
I like the inprovised 'loop end' strings.

It may not be pretty, but a 2X4 with strings, tuners, and a pickup isn't either, but it sounds pretty good!!

This would have been great for high school music students. Not easy to bang up yet plenty good for the basics.

Nice find, Bas!
I'll bet it has a nice sound.
Are those tuner buttons ivory or bone?

It was obviously made for "looped end" strings. Like some Banjos and mandolins use. They may be dificult to find but I know they are still made.

Interesting to see someone has been using the fretboard to play by numbers.

That lovely Hawaiian lady sure makes that guitar more appealing.

This seems to be the answer to Buck Dilly's topic "An Interesting Idea."
Another idea is to get a "travel guitar", add a riser nut and put a pick-up on it. I have one of those that I pull out from time to time.

Yeah, the gal is interesting, but the guy with his hands in his pockets looks suspicious -- those look like pretty deep pockets, what's he doing with his hands?

This "Attaché" Hawaiian guitar or one exactly like it was on eBay about a year ago. It was in the UK... must be the same one, eh? I wonder how many of these were made?

Doug, yes I think it's the one, about a year ago, from ebay UK. It's mine, BTW, not Basil's... but thanks to Basil for posting the pics!
Here's a couple of more pictures of the beautiful lady:

The one in the brochure has an angled peghead, which is different than the modern pictures. It is possible there was more than one model or maker for these things?
