Fantastically cool! Love the Jekyll & Hyde "clean" bridge. Great contrast to the greasy funk.

It's good Don, but personally I'd prefer to hear it without so much wah. I love to hear the attack of notes and phrases, but I feel the wah overwhelms it. Buried in there were some nice licks.

Mike, you're right. There's too much wah and its too low in the mix. I'm going to redo the wah wah lead and maybe I'll post the redone version if its better, Thanks, Don

Maui Wowie!!!! Love it!

Gotta love that last chord too (#11? I call it the "Get Smart" chord because they used it alot on that show from the '60s).

Cool backing track too with the nylon string guitar. Tell us more about how you put together the backup instruments please.

Hey Don, I lived over there back in the late 70s, on Halama Street. Had a gig with Mitch Woods at the Blue Max and other joints in Lahaina playing bass. Was blissfully ignorant of Hawaiian music back in those days.

Bill, The "Get Smart" chord is F#minorMajor7add9 you might say. Its (from low note to high) F#,A,F and G#. I don't know what to call it really.
First I set the metronome, played the initial nylon string vamp and then looped it. Then I played nylon funk style fill licks all the way through and then came back and edited out the bad stuff. Then I found a drum groove I liked along with that wild drum roll fill and the shaker I added later. Then I added bass which I played on a real bass guitar. The song sort of wrote itself. I had no idea for a bridge when I started but soon realized it would need some sort of bridge so I began to play what I felt and before too long the bridge was in place. Then I found a wah wah sound I liked and started jamming (and editing). I'm glad you like it. Don,
I sent you an e-mail. I'd really appreciate a MP3 emailed to me so I can practice my wah pedal usage for the pedal steel.
Thanks,
-Jim

Don - loved this tune! I'm not familiar with GarageBand - is this a software program similar to BIAB?

Thanks again folks.
Mike, GarageBand is an Apple MacIntosh (Mac) recording program that is very easy and fun to use. <font size="1" color="#8e236b"><p align="center">[This message was edited by Don McClellan on 28 January 2006 at 03:47 PM.]</p></FONT>
